Fully licensed carriage and disposal
Redundant equipment and chemical disposal
All waste electronic and electrical equipment are subject to the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations 2006. Electronic and electrical items must not be thrown away in the general waste but must be disposed of via a route that allows environmentally sound reuse, recovery or recycling. Johnsons are a registered waste carrier and have a number of registered WEEE treatment sites across the UK.
A waste transfer note is issued for all redundant Laboratory items that we collect from your premises and a full report detailing what has happened to the item is supplied to you post collection.
All items we collect are barcoded to ensure each item is fully traceable to the waste producer. All of our vehicles are tracked and remain secure during transit and our drivers are security cleared to ensure peace of mind.
Johnsons Laboratory Logistics follows a Waste Hierarchy to ensure minimum impact to the environment, saving our clients money through a variety of solutions:
1. Resale (using our vast network of buyers)
2. Reuse (donate)
3. Recycle (reuse some component parts)
Any items that are selected fit for reuse will have any confidential data wiped using a highly flexible data erasure tool to ensure all traces of data stored on targeted media is erased.
At Johnsons Lab Logistics, we understand the properties of hazardous waste and how to handle and dispose of it correctly. If you produce or receive hazardous waste you will have responsibilities under The Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005 to dispose of these items through a licensed provider.
